Cathartic, therapeutic, and humorous: Lists as a method of coping for nursing students and faculty
The title sounds catchy does it not? It sounds like an academic publication, “Cathartic, therapeutic, and humorous: Lists as a method of coping for nursing students and faculty”. In reality this post is about a list I put outside my door at the college one day when I was very frustrated with LINES. You know, the Que, waiting, etc…
There is something about anonymous humor lists that help people cope and laugh all while contributing.
I wanted you guys to see what came up on my list (I contributed the first few):
“Things that exacerbate my psychiatric symptoms… (Feel free to add)
-The car line at my kids’ school.
-Self-check out lines at the store.
-People who pitch cigarette butts out the window of their car at stop lights.
-IRB’s that take 5+ months to review a proposal.
-When your purchased items at a store are not put in your basket when you are ready to leave!
-Why common sense is not common
-MONDAYS
-People who fill up our landfills with plastic nasal specula!
-People who pass you on the freeway, then cut in front of you and turn OFF the road.
-People who accelerate (floor it) when the light turns green so they can sit at the next red light 50 yards down the road.
-People who do not walk an extra few steps and put their grocery cars in the cart holder… and then leave them out so you r car gets damaged.
-Those who use “data” in the singular.
…”
The list continues, but so far the students and faculty have me laughing out loud! Really, isn’t that what this was all about in the first place? I feel so much better just reading them and commiserating.
